This Vibrator Has Ruined Me: The We Vibe Touch

apricotsWhen I was a kid, probably about 7 or 8, I was at the farm stand where my mom worked part time to help a family friend, and I ate an apricot. It was no ordinary apricot: it was an experience in small pitted fruit form. Perfectly sweet, just the right temperature, with a nectar-like liquid surrounding the pit that tasted like what my tiny art history and greek mythology obsessed brain thought ambrosia might be like.

I have never eaten an apricot that was half as delicious since. No apricot has ever topped that apricot, whether my memory of how good it was is skewed (the fact that i remember this experience at all is impressive, most of my childhood is a blur) or it really, truly was amazing. Either way, apricots in general (except for the occasional dried apricot) have been ruined for me.

The We Vibe Touch is similar. I’m a big fan of it’s siblings the We Vibe Tango and Salsa, but there are a few things about the Touch that it just does better- and no other small vibe I’ve tried or seen has been quite as strong, deep, and thumpy as these three, and I have small hope that anything will truly rival them.

The thing that sets the We Vibe Touch apart from the Tango and Salsa is it’s shape, and the fact that it’s coated in the same silicone as their eponymous We Vibe 2 and 3. When using the Touch and Tango one after another, you can feel that although the silicone slightly “dulls” the vibration, it almost smooths it out- my clitoris prefers the less harsh vibrations of the Touch over the Tango, though the difference is subtle and not one you’ll notice if you don’t have both and try using them one after another.

wevibetouchThe shape. The shape of this toy is so awesome, and so under-appreciated. People who haven’t used it just don’t seem to understand. I could go on for days talking about the subtle genius of it, but I’ll spare you.

The “end” opposite the charging dock is shaped kind of like a spoon with a more dramatic point- a concave raindrop, if you will. What this means is that you have some options: you can use the very tip for pinpoint vibrations, cover your clit with the hollow of the “spoon” for surround-sound, experiment with using one of the long sides… This toy is really versatile in this sense, and fantastic for people who are unfamiliar with the kind of vibrator shape that works best for them: rather than giving you one option, it gives you many to experiment with so you know what works best for you. It’ll give you the knowledge about what shape works best for you, which helps if you’re ever in the market for one… if you ever even feel the need to buy a vibrator after this one.

Now, I’m not saying other vibrators are pointless. This one isn’t for internal use, and some like that. It’s also not for anal penetration1. But if you’re looking for a strong vibrator that’s not buzzy and will reach out and caress your internal clitoris in ways you never thought were possible, all while being rechargeable and small and body safe and easy to use during intercourse, this is the one for you. The only other vibrator that may sing to you as sweetly is the Tango, but the only reason you’d want that in addition to the Touch is so you can transfer those sweet, sweet vibes into any toy that has a bullet cavity. It will knock any other “bullet style” vibe out of the water.

IMAG1335This vibrator is, for me, the perfect quickie and the perfect accompaniment to intercourse; there are times I use other vibrators, but that’s only when I want to drag out my masturbation session; it’s almost like my clitoris scoffs at anything less than the Touch or Tango. “You expect me to get off with this?! Who do you think I am?!?!” What can I say, it has come to love the finer things in life. No other vibrator I own is so comfortable- like a warm blanket of vibrations enveloping my clitoris- while still so strong. It’s a subtlety only someone who has experienced shitty, buzzy, strong and annoying, weak and whiny, and everything in between when it comes to vibes can feel, but why put yourself through that when you can just get this vibrator and be set?

The only complaints I have are the sticky silicone (these things attract dust and lint like they were made to do it) and the finicky nature of the charging port, which is magnetized. With the magnetic charging, it’s best to place it on a flat, hard surface so it’s less likely to fall off- but if it’s jostled for whatever reason, the magnet will remove itself from the toy. These are something you just learn to live with- like a small, slightly irksome imperfection in an otherwise wonderful lover.

While I could continue crooning my love for the Touch for pages- I could probably write a romance novel that is purely about my love for it- I’ll spare you. What I will say is that this is my the perfect external vibrator, hands down. Don’t believe me? Try it, and see if you can prove me wrong.

Thank you to We Vibe for sending me the Touch for review! You can buy it at SheVibe, in all three colors- I’m personally a big fan of the teal.

  1. though you should feel free to play with the anal opening, which is jam packed with nerve endings- just remember that since this does not have a flared base, you should never insert it []
